This project began as a documentation of individuals who express their identity through their hairstyles. Over time, it evolved into a deeper exploration of the connection between humanity and nature. Just as each tree is a distinct yet interconnected organism within an ecosystem—thriving through growth, balance, and mutual respect—so too are we, as human beings.
However, unlike trees, society often pulls us away from this natural equilibrium. Individuality is frequently marginalized rather than embraced as a force that can unite us. This project seeks to highlight the common ground we all share, showing that self-expression is not something that divides us, but rather something that can bring us closer together, regardless of cultural background.
Particularly in communities where certain hairstyles are labeled as unprofessional, too exotic, or too bold, this work stands as a celebration of authenticity—a tribute to those who remain rooted in their true selves amidst a forest of human trees.
